This position is located within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy, Auxiliary Division/Administration Branch (CG-BSX-11), Washington, DC.
Duties
This position serves as a Budget Analyst, providing a full range of budget, accounting, financial, contracting, warehouse contract management, and injury claim processing and policy development services to CG-BSX-1, Auxiliary leadership, and various Coast Guard budgetary, financial, and resource management staffs including those in district Director of Auxiliary (DIRAUX, dpa) offices.

- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- Time-in-grade requirements must be met by closing date.
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-12: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lowest grade level (GS-11 level) in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
AT GS-12 Level, applicant must meet ALL 3 of the following conditions: Resume MUST demonstrate that you have met the specialized experience.
(1) Develop budget estimates for funding requirements and then formulate, monitor, and report on a prioritized/structured budget based on that information; AND
(2) Identify, analyze, present, and resolve budgetary problems utilizing automated budgetary systems; AND
(3) Serve as a work group leader and as Contracting Officer Representative/supervisor of a contracted warehouse facility.

To qualify for the GS-13: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lowest grade level (GS-12 level) in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
AT GS-13 Level, applicant must meet ALL 3 of the following conditions: Resume MUST demonstrate that you have met the specialized experience.
(1) Must meet all conditions for GS-12; AND
(2) Perform a wide variety of budgetary formulation, analytical, and administrative functions that require application of many different and unrelated budgetary, financial, and analytical techniques and methods; AND
(3) Develop and coordinate budget estimates, plans, justifications, special exhibits, and supplementary budget information for a wide range of appropriation budget submissions.
There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
