Duties
This position is located in the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, Office of Human Resources. Serves as a Human Resources (HR) assistant for the Time and Attendance (T&A) section providing a wide variety of administrative human resource functions and services related to various pay and time and attendance matters and programs. Uses established USCP human resources data standards and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) principles to administer and maintain the Department’s payroll information management systems including National Finance Center (NFC) and Workbrain. Provides advice and counsels managers and employees on T & A processing matters. Imports T & A data from central systems into local databases in order to perform analyses and prepare reports. Performs specialized human resources duties involving a wide variety of T & A problems or situations. Conducts leave audits to resolve problems and/or discrepancies in employee’s accounts. Advises managers and employees of procedural requirements for special programs such as Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), use of leave without pay, etc. Maintains records for and authorizes access to automated time keeping systems. Oversees the entry of personnel and related payroll data into NFC and Workbrain.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.For the CP-5 level you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CP-4/GS-6 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes: 1) ability to key
employees' time and attendance into an automated timekeeping system; 2) ability
to adjust leave balances; and 3) ability to review documents for proper application
