You will serve as aN IT Specialist (Policy Plan / System Analysis) in the Information and Knowledge Management Branch of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will provide direct technical and administrative support of information management (IM) processes and tools.
You will work with a spectrum of users, from enlisted military personnel up to flag/general officers, information technology experts, computer scientists, systems administrators and information systems security specialists.
You will address or explain differences in capabilities of generic IM tools, specific commercial IM software, and hardware systems such as Ezenia InfoWorkSpace, IBM Sametime, and Adobe Connect.
You will ensure crisis web pages are kept up to date.
You will provide training to personnel on how to create and manage their briefing slides.
You will work with customers to solve information/knowledge management challenges.
You will coordinate with subject matter experts across headquarters to develop appropriate policy and guidance, and guide it through the approval and distribution process.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations
Qualifications
Your resume should demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing strategic planning, policy and standards development and information security management. Examples of specialized experience should include the following:
Collaborating with personnel to identify and specify system requirements;
Planning and implementing new information systems to meet security requirements of customer organizations;
Assessing policy needs to assist with the development of policies to improve information management and information technology processes and programs;
Applying knowledge of Microsoft 0365, Microsoft SharePoint Online, PowerBI, Power Apps, Power Automate or equivalent systems;
Applying information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices to the system analysis process.
