This position is located in the Primary Care Service of the Boise VA Medical Center in Boise, ID. The incumbent performs highly complex administrative duties relevant to program functionality, development evaluation, and data system management in direct support of the Primary Care Operations Director.
Duties
Responsible for the development, monitoring, and sustainability of new and existing programs and their administrative functioning.
Participates and collaborates in staff meetings, committees, and conference calls as assigned.
Analyzes data with little to minimal supervision and reports findings to the Operations Director and Primary Care leadership for identifying process and performance improvements.
Serves as the records liaison for Primary Care Service.
Coordinates all administrative aspects for the Service, which include: timekeeping, travel, preparation of personnel action forms, liaison with Human Resources, preparation of reports, managing schedules, assisting with correspondence, maintenance of manuals, brochures, and information.
Tracks and manages Primary Care Provider and Nursing licensure, competencies, and training files.
Performs work involving independently exploring and identifying data, statistical information, references, documentation, and relevant policies, standards, and directives in support of a broad range of topics.
Maintains all associated documentation in support of Primary Care Programs in accordance with local policy, ensuring appropriate levels of privacy and access.
Collects and validates service utilization and performance improvement data and ensures that management and clinical information systems are in place and functioning.
Communicates pertinent data and training needs to the Operations Director.
Builds spreadsheets using data extracted from computer programs and works with the Program Analyst to prepare and distribute reports, findings, and recommendations to leadership.
Organizes and prepares clinical and access data for presentation to the Primary Care Leadership Team, Medical Directors, Clinic Managers, VISN and VACO.
Assists and serves as the backup to the Program Analyst.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet specialized experience within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement, 01/08/2024.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical programs; knowledge of the mission, organization, and work processes of programs; knowledge of administrative procedures, computer keyboarding, Microsoft Office products to include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and ability to monitor and track information using a variety of database programs and sources and analyze pertinent information for tracking and reporting. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month & year starting and ending dates AND hours worked per week.
Please note: In addition to meeting experience requirements, applicants for this position must show possession of the following proficiency: ability to type 40 words per minute. Applicants may meet this requirement by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years.
