Qualifications

What are we looking for?Must possess a master's degree from a college or university with a program nationally accredited in social work or psychology, marriage and family therapy, licensed professional counseling, or in a related behavioral health field.Highest licensure by a State or National regulatory board that authorizes independent clinical practice that is current, valid, unrestricted and in good standing in at least one of the following: clinical social work, licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed professional counselor, or clinical psychologist that meet the DoD requirements.  Must provide a photocopy of licensure with their application.Tier III must have engaged in at least two years post licensure, that includes at least 2,000 hours post licensure or 4,000 hours post graduate degree, full-time clinical experience in a clinical setting. Two of these years must include documented post-licensure clinical experience in substance use disorder treatment.Must have at least two years of post-licensure experience as a clinical supervisor of professional clinical providers.Certified substance abuse counselor (Alcohol and Drug Counselor II, International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium substance abuse counselor certification, or state equivalent) required at time of hire.Expert knowledge of substance misuse issues within the Marine Corps and related program policies, procedures, and regulations to serve as an installation subject matter expert is highly preferred.Expert knowledge of the concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to substance misuse within an active-duty population and evidence-based and evidence-informed counseling techniques. Ability to provide clinical supervision of subordinates individually and in group settings.
