Qualifications

What are we looking for? Must possess a master’s degree from a college or university with a program nationally accredited in: social work or psychology, marriage and family therapy, clinical counseling, or in a related behavioral health field. Ability to obtain supervision that will be applied towards their independent licensure under an approved supervision plan as required by the state licensing board from which they are seeking licensure.  Hiring program does not guarantee program supervision hours will be applicable towards state licensure. Licensure shall be completed within a 36 month period from the date of hire. Must achieve certified substance abuse counselor (Alcohol and Drug Counselor II, International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium substance abuse counselor certification, or state equivalent) within 36 months from the date of hire.  Experience working or serving as a volunteer or intern in the field of substance abuse strongly recommended. Strong case management skills to include: maintain accurate and timely documentation of records and case files is preferred.  Ensure a smooth implementation and continuum of care, develop and maintain knowledge of referral sources, collaborate and coordinate with other internal departments, outside agencies, and commanders (if indicated) to ensure that client is receiving the most appropriate services is preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is preferred. Knowledge of the military structure and the military environment is preferred.
