About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W3VYAA HQ US ARMY MEDICAL COMMAND.

Duties

Serves as the Command Security Officer responsible for oversight and enforcement of the Department of Army security program. Plans and coordinates procedures for implementation of the Information Security (INFOSEC) program. Serves as the Personnel Security (PERSEC) officer responsible for security clearances for military, civilian, contractors and foreign nationals. Acts as Command Lead for the Insider Threat (InT) program. Oversees the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Program. Provides staff management and supervision of the industrial security (INDUSEC) programs. Responsible for the oversight of the intelligence program. Serves as the Command Foreign Disclosure (FDO) Officer. Acts as Operations Security (OPSEC) Officer for the Command.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Duty outside normal work hours may be required to resolve problems that are subject to occur on a 24-hour/7-day a week basis. Some travel may be required.
  • Designated Mission Essential Position: Requires to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander and may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends.
  • Requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Two year trial period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG/GS-12 level which includes intelligence-related security work, applying security principles and concepts pertaining to Information Security (INFOSEC), Personnel Security Program (PERSEC) and Foreign Disclosure (FD). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
