Incumbent serves as full time Supervisor in the Care in the Community Department of the Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care Services. The incumbent has direct accountability to the Chief, Care in the Community and Asst. Chief, Care in the Community.
Duties
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
Identifies areas of concern independently, as a result of thorough analyses, and prepares and implements plans for resolution.
Makes decision based on data source, methodology of data collection, techniques of analysis, display of findings, conclusions, recommendations, are generally left to the discretion of the incumbent with minimal oversight of the Chief, Care in the Community.
Responsible for the smooth transition of Cerner implementation and are the subject matter experts within Care in the Community.
Responsible in setting up training programs within Care in the Community Department throughout the launch of Cerner and post go live to ensure new employees are successful in the use of Cerner and will assist over 85 employees daily on operation with Cerner and will have to overcome difficulties due to employees teleworking.
Assists in the responsibility for the short, mid, and long-range planning and programming aspects of the Care in the Community department.
Uses the data and reports gathered in order to determine the past effectiveness of operations, the current status of operations, and then forecast the future of the program.
Revies the accuracy and adequacy of current financial, costing, and managerial reports and is responsible for quality assurance of all statistical reports and related data as they apply to higher level management.
Supervises and are directly responsible for developing performance plans and evaluating the performance of their subordinates.
Responsible for planning and directing the activities of subordinates and managing training and support needs toassure an appropriate work environment.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am -4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/09/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: apply financial analysis techniques, including budget projection and forecasting, utilize hospital administrative principles, theories and practices, utilize written and oral communication skills to respond to the needs of internal and external clients; utilize data and reports to determine past and current effectiveness of operations; supervise or train entry level administrative staff; populate or maintain an automated tracking system. OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or, 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond one (1) full year of graduate level education may be used to qualify applicants for the GS-09 level.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary but also demands some standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying of charts, clinical folders, forms, and miscellaneous supplies to various locations within the medical center. The incumbent frequently walks to various parts of the medical center including patient care areas.
