Duties
You will serve an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN), Web/Cloud Services Analyst, in the Enterprise Services Division (ESP2), Enterprise
Services and Plans Department (ESP21), at the Naval Network Warfare Command (NAVNETWARCOM), Suffolk, VA.
You will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise supporting classified network services.
You will be responsible for service/ project management assignments in supporting Department of Defense Information Networks-Navy (DoDIN-N).
You will conduct Problems Management activities to determine root cause and provide solution recommendations for a
myriad of problems affecting Navy networks and associated services.
Requirements

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 461 within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a Government issued passport.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- Shift work, irregular tours of duty, occasional evening/weekend work, and/or extended duty may be required.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: using judgement, initiative, and resourcefulness in deviating from established methods to modify, adapt, and/or refine broader guidelines to resolve specific complex and/or intricate issues and problems.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: consulting with individuals or groups from outside the agency, including consultants, contractors, vendors, or representatives of professional associations, the media, or public interest groups.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: interpreting regulations on his/her own initiative, applying new methods to resolve complex and/or intricate, controversial, or unprecedented issues and problems.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: influencing and persuading employees and managers to accept and implement findings and recommendations.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have qualifying experience such as:
*Experience applying principles and methods for integrating information systems components, performance tuning tools and
technologies, and system diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques for conducting and evaluating Problem Management root
causes and recommended solutions.
*Experience utilizing ITIL V3 Service Life-Cycle, ITSM process and functions related to Service Design, Service Transition and Service
Operations, IT tools, techniques, technology and processes related to the assigned service area(s), Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) Contract and Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) services.
*Experience mitigating cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and risks sufficient to assess the needs relative to global priorities and providing advice, guidance, and recommendations on critical application issues at all levels of management, as well as, both technical and non-technical audiences.
*Experience selecting network hardware, technologies, and protocols to determine solutions for restoring connections.
This position is within the Work Category Professional at Work Level Senior, Series and Grade GG-12.
