Duties

Manages all day-to-day facilities operations involving coordinating activities with the Washington Headquarters Services managers; building engineers; and the other tenant organizations. Serves as the agency's representative for moving services, building maintenance services, and furniture installation services. Manages the agency’s conference rooms. Controls all keys for DoD OIG areas (i.e. issuance, cutting, etc.). Maintains DoD OIG’s key program. Participates in planning, formulating and implementing OIG-wide policies and procedures for the FSD. Plans and coordinates moves of office equipment and furniture to ensure minimum disruption of daily activities of the office involved. Maintains space allocation standards, allocation records, spreadsheets, plans, files and charts for an effective facilities and space management program. Ensures that exact locations and amount of space assigned to each DoD OIG component at each location is shown in detail.

Requirements

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment, and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
  • The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-07 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Knowledge of life safety regulations and procedures covering facilities management. 2) Knowledge of administrative policies and procedures sufficient to perform assigned functions such as preparation of correspondence. 3) Knowledge and skill to coordinate the work of the office with other offices and advise personnel on new procedures or regulations. 4) Analytical skill sufficient to evaluate reports, regulations and other relevant material as a basis for developing and implementing agency guides and procedures. 5) Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers at all levels. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience. Only experience and/or education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.

Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:

GS-09 Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to substitute for the specialized experience requirement.

PASS/FAIL COURSES: If more that 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specialized in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
