Duties

Serve as the Director of Plans and Training responsible for oversight, execution, planning, coordinating, evaluating, managing, and supervising all training management pertaining to the Readiness Division. Represent the Commander at briefings, meetings and conferences which include interactions with higher headquarters staff often involving officials at the General Officer and Senior Executive Service rank. Facilitate and integrate directorate operational planning activities with the command and United States Army Reserve Command (USARC) strategic planning process. Oversee preparation and implementation of directorate action plans prepared in response to the command and USARC strategic goals and objectives. Provide training support to units for facilities, training areas and ammunition management to include coordinating with higher headquarters regarding unit mission and specialized training needed before an exercise, and ordering ammunition. Manage the Local Training Areas (LTAs) improvement to internal standards which includes troop project work, sustainment and modernization projects, submission of unresourced requirements for funding and managing project execution. Manage and track utilization for LTAs through the Range and Facilities Management Information System. Oversee the management and tracking of school quotas and the trap to fill necessary quotas for assigned personnel using the Army Training Requirements Resource System. Manage the submission of Unit Status Reports for assigned subordinate units. Create yearly training guidance and manage and conduct yearly training briefs for subordinate units. Set performance standards and serve as the first line rating official for directorate employees. Initiate recruitment action to fill vacant positions and select personnel in accordance with merit systems principles.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing plans and training policies based on local policies, procedures, staff, resources, organizations and activities; analyzing and evaluating the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of a plans and training program; conducting analysis of and advising on operational and contingency issues related to planning and training missions; identifying plans and training shortfalls within measured resource areas and recommending courses of action to improve effectiveness and remedy deficiencies to shortfalls; and reviewing training plans and evaluating operational readiness of subordinate elements through inspections or review of reports.
