This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Infrastructure & User Services Group (IUSG), Division of Operations Management (DOM).
As a Supervisory IT Specialist, GS-2210-15, you will lead a staff responsible for managing and overseeing the operations, enhancement, and delivery of services for the multi-tier processing
platforms and resources within IUSG-managed Data Centers.
Duties
Coordinate all facets of the Division’s work by mobilizing a diverse, journey-level staff of Federal and contractor IT professionals across multiple IT specialty areas.
Oversees day-to-day operations at all infrastructure hosting and related environments for the
Data Centers in the group's contractual oversight.
Directs government technical oversight in cooperating with the designed Enterprise
Security Group to develop and support IT security guidance and policy.
Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME), Customer Liaison, Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and/or Government Task Leader (GTL) for data center operations.
Oversees evaluation of capacity planning and tuning to achieve maximum efficiency.

In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Managing operations of IT infrastructure and associated processes; 2) Leading multiple project teams in order to manage the operations and delivery of CMS IT resources; 3) Serving as a technical lead and system maintainer to multiple IT systems to ensure information security policies and processes are followed.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current or former Federal employees and current or former Federal employees applying under the VEOA eligibility who hold or have held a permanent General Schedule position in the previous year must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
