You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst in the NAVAL ACADEMY.
GS-07 pay: $53,105 - $69,035
GS-09 pay: $64,957 - $84,441
Duties
You will utilize automated system or application (e.g., CFMS, ERP, DTS) to access, edit, print or retrieve financial data.
You will obtain information and coordinate budgets for multiple programs of appropriated, gift and travel requirements.
You will perform accurate mathematical computations and verify accuracy of documentation.
You will respond to inquiries pertaining to financial and budgetary transactions.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
GS-09 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Coordinating budgets for multiple programs of appropriated, gift and travel requirements; 2) Providing technical advice concerning financial operations; and 3) Researching and analyzing accounting discrepancies to determine corrective actions. GS-07 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing automated system or applications to access, edit, print or retrieve financial data; 2) Preparing periodic budgetary reports; and 3) Responding to inquiries pertaining to financial and budgetary transactions. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
For GS-07 =1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement.
For GS-09 =master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
