About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HT-APF-W39LAA US ARMY NAT GUARD READINESS CTR ARL.
This position is located at the U.S. Army National Guard Readiness Center, G-2, Intelligence SEC Division, SSO Branch in Arlington, Virginia.
Duties
Develop and implement Special Security Officer (SSO), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI facilities security policies and procedures for the Army National Guard (ARNG).
Provide advice in the conduct of ARNG Sensitive Compartmented Information facilities (SCIF) assessments and evaluations to determine the degree of SCI security compliance.
Supervise personnel responsible for new and proposed policies and technology that directly impact ARNG SCI Security issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain the following core SPeD (Security Professional Education Development) Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

Experience required:
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Managing the process of building SCIFs (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities); developing policies and procedures for Special Compartmented Information (SCI) security operations program; planning budgets by allocating resources and determining long range budget goals; managing subordinate personnel (Civilian, Military, and Contractor).

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
