You will serve as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Leader in the Production Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will instruct team on techniques and repair methods for modifying heavy mobile equipment.
You will determine tools, equipment, work methods, and sequences tools to repair craft, cranes, or heavy equipment.
You will determine sequence of operations, skill set requirements, material, tooling, and facilities needed to accomplish heavy mobile equipment work assignments.
Troubleshoot components (e.g., hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, structural, electrical) during removal, repair, alteration, overhaul, installation, and alignment of heavy mobile equipment.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination and annually thereafter.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Commercial Driver’s license in addition to a Government Driver's license for the type and class of vehicle to be driven.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Lead or Supervise 1) Ability to do the work of a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Leader without more than normal supervisor. 2) Ability to Lead or Supervise common heavy mobile equipment mechanic duties, such as experience which requires knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation and working relationships of heavy duty systems, assemblies and parts to diagnose, repair, overhaul and modify heavy mobile equipment systems and vehicle.
