This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). Serves as Deputy to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for OJP. Provides advice, guidance, and assistance to the CIO in formulating and articulating OJP's policies regarding, positions concerning, and responses to current, emerging, or anticipated IT developments and their applicability to OJP.
Duties
Serves as Deputy to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for OJP, reporting to the CIO who reports, in turn, to the Deputy Assistant Attorney General (DAAG).
Assists the CIO in fostering the effective and efficient identification, acquisition, and application of information technology (IT) solutions to enhance the execution of OJP functions, operations, and activities, including both internal performance and service to the public.
Manages highly advanced technology programs, by providing critical reviews, feedback, and recommendations on program planning, implementation, projections, and priorities.
Plays a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and evaluation of IT to meet OJP's mission requirements.

Qualifications
Basic Entry Requirements:

Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Provides advice, guidance, and assistance in formulating and articulating agency policies regarding, positions concerning, and responses to current, emerging, or anticipated IT developments and their applicability to the agency.
Offers guidance to top management officials on major IT matters and acts as a crucial advisor to other leaders.
Advises on proper IT acquisition and resource management aligning with federal regulations and guidelines.
Manages high-complexity IT projects, resolving conflicts between agency objectives and technological requirements, and implementing innovative problem-solving strategies.
