Duties

As a SECURITY COOPERATION SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-12/13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Working in support of the CWMD Security Cooperation Program within the Mission Support Division (OB-BPM), Building Partner Capacity Department (OB-BP), On-Site Inspection and Building Capacity Directorate (OB), DTRA. Serves as an SME regarding primarily, but not limited to security cooperation authority Title 10 Section 333 Security Cooperation (SC). Maintains access to all databases and information systems to include SOCIUM and Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS) (and future successors) in support of SC case writing activities with in DTRA CWMD Security Cooperation Engagement Program CSCEP. Works with the CSCEP PM on all SC -specific case writing processes to include planning, design, monitoring, and reporting tools for 333 and related technical assistance activities, tracking all SC cases, start to finish. CSCEP budgets and resources in accordance with policies of DTRA and the DoD. Manages the implementation of CWMD Security Cooperation efforts in support of the Combatant Commands (CCMD), and other U.S. government departments/agencies. Manages CWMD capacity Country assessments and evaluations, supports the development of security cooperation proposals, and provides expert advise to Geographic Combatant Commands on CWMD security cooperation-related topics.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Collaborating with diverse teams/organizations to meet agency objectives, and; Building Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) capacity, and; Working in Security Cooperation programs. You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Leadership of diverse teams/organizations to meet agency objectives, and; Serves as an SME regarding primarily, but not limited to, NDAA Section 332 and Section 333 Security Cooperation (SC), and; Building Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) capacity, and; Working in Security Cooperation programs, and; Develops mid- and long-range plans and objectives for DTRA SC programs based on understanding of a broad range of issues, programs, and organizations, and; Maintains access to all databases and information systems to include SOCIUM and Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS) (and future successors) in support of SC case writing activities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
