You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN in the Radiological Monitoring (Code 105.3), Radiological Control Department (Code 105) of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will assign specific areas of responsibility to the branch head supervisors and assign to each of them, subordinate supervisors and technicians required to satisfactorily perform their assignments.
You will evaluate supervisors and review evaluations made by supervisors on other employees.
You will hear group grievances and serious employee complaints and consult with employee development personnel on training and development needs of the division.
You will work closely with applicable bargaining unit(s) on personnel issues and ensure EEO policies and communicating support of these policies is carried out by subordinates.
You will provide input to the Head, Radiological Monitoring on matters relating to the organization, function,
responsibility and authority for various aspects of the radiological monitoring program.
You will solve problems, which involve policy determination or interpretations, and collaborate with heads of other units to coordinate work related changes affecting other units.
You will ensure that the radiological monitoring technicians are properly trained, developed and qualified.
You will be responsible for the efficient and economical performance of divisional functions as well as compliance with regulations established by NAVSEA and Federal Regulatory Agencies.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing leadership in the development, implementation, or monitoring of radiological controls and practices to minimize exposure and to protect personnel and the general public from radiological hazards.
