You will serve as a INDUSTRIAL SECURITY SPECIALIST (INFORMATION/PERSONNEL) in the Command Element (CE), II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF), aboard Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune of II MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. Serving as the II MEF Information and Industrial Security Specialist responsible for the assistance in development, promotion, administration, and management of all phases of Information and Industrial Security Programs.

Duties

You will serve as the II Marine Expeditionary Force Information and Industrial Security Specialist responsible for the assistance in development, promotion, administration, and management of all phases of Information and Industrial Security Programs. You will serve as an advisor to the II MEF Security Manager the staff cognizance to the Chief of Staff for the command Information and Industrial Security programs. You will implement the formulation, institution, and evaluation of the Industrial Security Program and process. You will conduct the provision, development, management, and coordination of security policy guidance, security training/education, and security awareness in support of information, physical, industrial, and information security (INFOSEC) programs. You will manage and maintain a proactive industrial, information, and physical security programs and processes with goals and objectives to protect classified and sensitive unclassified information. You will develop short and long-range industrial, information, and physical security program management goals and objectives impacting Command Element, II Marine Expeditionary Force Information and Major Subordinate Command/Elements. You will coordinate industrial information and physical security management goals for Command Element to ensure industrial, information, and physical security regarding classified and sensitive unclassified information is achieved and maintained. You will implement policies and develops local procedures for the classification and protection of classified national security information and controlled unclassified information originated or controlled by installation activities. You will interpret, formulate, and implements regulatory guidance for classification managment and safeguarding requirements and prepares supplemental guidance as directed. You will establish local procedures for the delegation and exercise of classification and declassification authority and develop classificiation guidance. You will provide for proper personnel security administration; such as, proper visitor controls, physical security provisions, and safeguards. You will advise program managers in developing security agreements in support of visitor group contractor operations. You will conduct periodic security reviews to examine procedures and security training of visitor group contractors for compliance with security requirements and agreements for practice safeguarding classifed materials and other security provisions.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Successful completion of the Contracting Official Representative Course within 30 days of being assigned to position as the Industrial Security Coordinator for II MEF Command Element per DOD 5200.1R/SECNAVINST M-5510.30, Ch. 11.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: reviewing and implementing security policy requirements to advise management or personnel by making recommendations concerning information, industrial, and physical security programs for the protection of sensitive information and compliance with regulations. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)

OR

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)

OR

LL.M., if related (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)
