You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the G-3/5, OPERATIONS OF PLANS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

You will supervise the Installation Protection/Mission Assurance force protection (e.g. antiterrorism ; critical infrastructure protection; emergency management; and chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high yield explosives matters). You will interact with regional law enforcement and physical security personnel to ensure these program areas are integrated. You will develop, coordinate, and staff directives to incorporate higher headquarters directives and policies on matters pertaining to the Program Region, Installation, and resident forces. You will works program issues with regional installations staffs to identify resource requirements. You will serve as Infrastructure Program Manager to assist the branch Head in the management to identify and protect assets that are critical to the accomplishment to the commands mission essential tasks, core functions, and capabilities. You will represent the Branch Head in executive level working groups and staff actions when the Branch Head cannot personally attend. You will develop and/or review the Force Protection Annex/Appendix of exercise/contingency plans, ensuring policy and directives are incorporated into all phases of planning. You will coordinate threat, criticality, vulnerability, and risk assessments and command inspections to provide appropriate after-action comments/recommendations to affected commanders. You will assist in resource procurement and coordination for the CBRNE, and Installation Protection Programs’ required equipment operational maintenance, staffing, and program development. You will participate in the planning and execution of emergency response exercises and training evolutions.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You may be required to carry a beeper or cell phone 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and/or subject to recall of duty.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with duties pertaining to the oversight of Installation Protection (IP) Programs; managing the planning and coordination of a Critical Infrastructure Program (CIP); and supervising the work, schedule, performance, and training of subordinates.
