The Department of the Interior is devoted to protecting and preserving the natural resources of this great nation, including National Parks, Landmarks, and the well-being of communities, including those of Native American, Alaska Natives and affiliated Islanders.
This is a term appointment not to exceed 13 months. It may be extended annually for a maximum of 4 years.
Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary (OS), Assistant Secretary for Insular and International Affairs, Office of Insular Affairs, Policy Division in Washington, DC.
At the full performance level GS-13 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1) The position serves as OIA's project manager for technical assistance provided to the Territories related to mitigation, adaptation, resilience, and planning including through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL)and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
2) This position works closely with the OIA Ecologist and OIA Budget Analyst to monitor program funding, track and report on program progress, and collaborate with inter- and intra-agency stakeholders.
3) Establishes and maintains inventory and accounting of OIA BIL and IRA funded projects. Monitors program milestones, metrics, and alignment with policy priorities for internal and external reporting and tracking purposes.
4) Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of programs in meeting established goals and objectives by engaging with Territory representatives to assess their program status, provide information or assistance, and recommend resolutions to conflicts or problems.
5) Analyzes data and compiles detailed reports that measure the Department's BIL and IRA Program performance for submission to Departmental leadership, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Office of the Inspector General (OIG), the White House and Congress.
The Office of the Secretary has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Washington, DC Salary Information
GS-12: $94,199 - $122,459 per annum.
GS-13: $112,015 - $145, 617 per annum.
First time hires to the Federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) monitoring program milestones, metrics, and alignment for development with policy priorities for internal and external reporting and tracking purposes; and 2) analyzing data to develop detailed reports that measure program performance.
MUST MEET ALL
