This position is located in the Joint Test and Evaluation Office (Suffolk,VA), Office of the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E) in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Office of the DOT&E was established by statute and is a position senior to an Assistant Secretary of Defense. The Director is the Principal Staff Assistant to the Secretary of Defense on all matters related to operational and live fire test and evaluation, and reports directly to the Congress on these matters.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
Provides Senior Software Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) Action Officer (AO) administrative, operational, and technical support to the JT&E Program Director and Field Director (FD) in compliance with JT&E Program Standards.
Leads computer programming initiatives for JT&E modernization.
Provides project planning, training, administrative service support, personnel support, logistics, security, and financial management for project team.
Develops and updates technical training modules that support the JT&E test planning team with data collection, analysis, and modeling and simulation applications and methods.
Identifies and determines unique alternative technical solutions to exceptionally difficult problems that arise from differences in political, financial, and mission priorities between Directors, Combatant Commanders, Joint Staff, and other high-level officials.
Serves as the Senior JT&E Application Programmer, planning, designing, and building complex-code for modeling and simulation (M&S) and database driven applications that bolster JT&E and T/E enterprise organization operations.

- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP components. A Special Background Investigation (SBI) is required with favorable adjudication by a determining authority.
- This position requires incumbent to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and annually thereafter.
- The incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- This position may require occasional travel away from your normal duty station for official business on military or commercial aircraft.

You may qualify at the level, GS-14if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to:
Conducting program management activities, analyzing issues, resolving conflicts, monitoring, and auditing methodologies, and in designing and conducting comprehensive program/management studies when the study boundaries are extremely broad.
Applying analytical and event-level analysis techniques to predict required resources for successful project execution.
Applying innovation, Modernization, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, computer programming, and quality control to action development of python, java, javaScript, C++, SQL, and HTML scripts for technological advances.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
