This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for AcqDemo Business and Technical Management Career Path (NH) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serve as an expert logistics management specialist performing logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating the execution of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for major complex systems.
Duties
Applies mastery knowledge of ILS functions to the extent that the employee is capable of applying new developments, experimental theories, and experienced judgment to solve novel or obscure problems and develop new approaches.
Manage intensive logistics management to support a complex major weapons system from concept through field deployment.
Implement agency policy and procedures of acquisition to provide support of the program manager’s requirement to field fully supportable systems/equipment and meeting operational requirements for the soldier in the field.
Monitor the status and quality of ILS development services and products.
Manage the processes of monitoring and correcting deficiencies in ILS throughout the research, development, and acquisition process for aviation weapons systems.
Review ILS management and planning documents assuring that tailoring, streamlining, and acquisition reform are considered and applied.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
- Must be able to obtain Secret clearance.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service that includes: 1) Performing logistics management operations that involve planning the execution of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for sustainment of aviation systems that could encompass new and emerging technologies and/or minor fielding requirements in support of United States (US) or Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirements; 2) Serving as a technical advisor on logistics within the organization, ILS, and aviation acquisition communities for both US and or FMS requirements; AND 3) Processing documents and reports associated with the requisition, receipt, storage, inventory, shipment, disposition, and status of general and specialized supplies and equipment used by the organization to support US and/or FMS aviation requirements.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
