About the Position: This Supply Management Officer position is located at the Naval Health Clinic in Patuxent River, MD. The office located adjacent to the warehouse. Work will be performed during those working hours in 8 block time of maxi-flex time. Expectation of this position is to manage the overall scope and personnel performing those duties associated with a Logistics Department to include but not limited to warehouse management, equipment management, and government purchase card program.
Duties
Oversee the General Purchase Card Program (GPCP) and ensure compliance that is mandated by the authority over the program.
Review purchase requests to determine type and method of purchase.
Maintain identification and ensures accountability of medical and non-medical equipment to include inventory, inspections, and periodic equipment function integrity testing.
Review all medical equipment requests prior to acquisition/procurement.
Provide operator training for basic medical equipment.
Maintain repair manuals and maintenance records on all equipment.
Assign work based on priorities and established organizational responsibilities.
Develop performance standards, evaluate performance, effects disciplinary measures when appropriate.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires occasional TDY - 25%.
- Incumbent must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance in the regular performance of duties.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing supply policies and procedures for equipment procurement, authorization, utilization, and disposal; conduct research into complex problems and then implement improvements; managing medical equipment in automated software systems; maintain accurate files for equipment that is required for recordkeeping; and provide technical advice, guidance and/or assistance in resolving discrepancies discovered during inventories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
