About the Position: The incumbent of this position will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist for the Administrative Security Division.
The positions are located in Falls Church, VA. These positions are not remote.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

Duties
Monitors and ensures completion of processing, tracking, and documentation of all completed background investigations for all civilian and contract employees to and from Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and Central Adjudication Facility (CAF).
Provides regular training to staff related to security clearances and background investigation requirements.
Analyze information on the effectiveness of ongoing personnel security programs gathered from direct and indirect sources.
Maintains current security clearance records and files, and initiates independent reviews as required on all personnel having access to classified material.
Reviews investigative reports for conformity to personnel security clearance regulations and determines whether the requested clearance should be granted or denied.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. Incumbent must obtain the below SPeD Certifications within their first two years of employment.
- Core SPeD Certifications required: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and the DoD Personnel Security Adjudications and DISS/JCAVS Training for Security Professional courses within their first two years of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience is required, which includes:(1) Adjudicating complex personnel security clearances for a multi-layered, geographically dispersed organization;(2) Coordinating investigations of applicants and employees to ensure they meet security standards; AND(3) Overseeing compliance with personnel security procedures and requirements.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
