This position will serve as a Transportation Assistant assigned to Fiscal Service at the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN. This position will provide and coordinate tuition, registration fees, and make travel arrangements for employees.
Duties

Major duties and responsibilities include:
Maintaining and managing system administration of the web-based employee travel package, to include: establishing employee in system, building approval chains, completing on-line airline bookings, assisting with use of travel software, etc.
Conducting training to educate travelers, alternate preparers, and approving officials on the travel software.
Working with travelers to make airline, hotel, rental car, and local transportation arrangements.
Serving as travel and education coordinator, following up with travelers to ensure vouchers are filed timely and to manage fund control points associated with travel.
Managing the travel card program.
Performing other duties as necessary.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications
IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-6 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service, that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of a Transportation Assistant. Specialized experience includes managing a web-based travel program; determining eligibility and processing travel requests; managing fund control points associated with travel; receiving invoices for payment of travel services. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE.)

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary, but requires some walking, standing, travel between divisions, carrying of light objects and occasional operation of a motor vehicle. Work is performed in an office setting.
