You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) in the Information Technology Directorate of CENTER FOR SUBMARINE.

Duties

You will track approved NMCI orders, coordinate installation plans with DCTR and the vendor, and subsequently validate and review proposed plans for consistency with clemency operational requirements. You will determine possible resolution for problems that are elevated above the NMCI Helpdesk and require assistance beyond the user level. You will coordinate the refresh of ACTR's Area of Responsibility (AOR) NETC NMCI assets. You will validate the delivery of ordered services ensuring it meets the command task orders for customer's NMCI orders and report to DCTR NE Region. You will ensure all AOR Commands follow Information assurance (IA) and Privacy act policies, directions, and guidelines with regard to NMCI operations.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 411 level intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting analysis to recommend resolution of complex IT issues affecting an organization; 2) Providing additional support beyond the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) Help Desk (or equivalent) for customer support and/or customer resolution when necessary; 3) Providing NMCI (or equivalent) program management and documentation for task orders, seats and services ordered, user profile management, required training, and/or other associated services across an organization or department; and 4) Assisting with providing data and/or reports regarding NMCI Help Desk contractors and performance. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education

GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degreeor3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
