You will serve as a Security Assistant (OA) in the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will register vehicles aboard the installation.
You will review documentation including pass application for accuracy of data, Military ID cards, various state driver licenses, registration, and various insurance documents.
You will record traffic citation data in various databases and adjudicated traffic citation upon customer walk-in or telephone contact.
You will conduct local background checks to determine fitness of the registrants.
You will be processing contractors/vendors, volunteers and other persons for long term access control credentials.
You will greet visitors and process their request for unescorted access to the installation.
You will prepare, maintain and file daily all relevant correspondence, records and documents.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications
GS-06
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Conducting Background Record checks to determine fitness of the registrant to possess a weapon; 2) Performing fingerprinting services; 3) Greeting visitors verifying their identity, determining eligibility for access; and 4) Preparing, tracking, maintaining, and filing all correspondence, records, and documents.
GS-05
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Preparing, tracking, maintaining, and filing all correspondence, records, and documents; 2) Performing fingerprinting services; 3) drafting routine correspondence; and 4) providing customer service support.
GS-04
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successfully completed four years of education above high school level
GS-04
Successfully completed at least two full academic years of education above high school.
