About the Position: Carlisle Barracks is an installation at the center of the Army and Department of Defense Senior Leadership educational programs. This historic post supports missions such as the U.S. Army War College, (including the Center for Strategic Leadership, Strategic Studies Institute and USAWC Press, U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center), and Department of Health Agency, Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute, and the Installation Management Command.
Duties
Communicate with callers/visitors to determine appropriate routing, action, or response.
Assist in the coordination of social functions and/or events for an organization.
Annotate pertinent event information for dissemination to others.
Maintain a working knowledge of an organization and its services, to answer questions, and refer callers to the appropriate location for resolution.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and the ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization. The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty.
- This position requires the employee complete and pass the Accident-Avoidance Course.
- This position may require you to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- This position requires that the employee be able to complete and pass any government vehicle operator qualification and certifications to receive a government driver's license and to operate government vehicles.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
