About the Position: Communications and Network Division (CND) Radios Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Branch is seeking a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic and self-starter to support Program Manager, Tactical Radios (PM TR) as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO). Radio SATCOM Branch supports PM TR to provide the Army and other services with tactical radio communications systems.
Duties
Plan, coordinate, and provide information systems security analysis or certification/validation to Program Executive Office (PEO).
Recommend and document security requirements from Federal, DoD and DA regulatory guidance, higher level policies, and system unique concerns.
Analyze vulnerabilities to determine risks to the system, considering system development and operational environments, threats, and vulnerabilities.
Provide technical expertise in information assurance/cybersecurity.
Conduct detailed risk assessments of systems.
Serve as information security technical advisor and consultant.
Create and maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time, sometimes on short notice.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
- Incumbent is required to complete the appropriate training for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, DoD 8570-01-M, December 19, 2005, Incorporating Change 3, January 24, 2012.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. To qualify based on your experience, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies:

In addition, you must meet the specialized experience below:
Specialized experience is defined as: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (NH-02/GS-11) in the Federal service which includes (1) Preparing, submitting, and/or monitoring accreditation packages through the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process; (2) Performing authorization to operate (ATO) duties to include inheritance model for the entire system lifecycle; and (3) Demonstrating use of cybersecurity concepts and tools such, as DISA STIGs, SCAP, SCC Tool, eMASS or ACAS, to validate system security accreditation.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (NH-02/GS-11)
