Duties

Serves as a subject matter expert and leader on a wide variety of IT projects and studies, and ensures effective integration of plans, programs, and operations. Monitors and analyzes program implementation; and makes decisions and recommends program adjustments to meet local conditions and changing situations, as well as accommodating command directed programs and activities. Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with plans, policies, standards, infrastructures, and architectures that establish the framework for the management of all IT programs necessary to support the USAFMCOM mission. Coordinates, plans, and directs all Headquarters, USAFMCOM Information Assurance (IA) activities. Coordinates all end-user training activities related to the operation and use of computer systems, office automation systems, data communications systems, and software products. Directs and supervises information and system security; ensures the appointment of an information assurance security officer (IASO); coordinates, plans, and directs Communications Security (COMSEC) measures.

Qualifications

Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-13 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in the Federal Service. Basic Requirement: Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail Customer Service Oral Communication Problem Solving AND Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as applying Information Technology theories, principles, concepts, standards, policies, and practices sufficient to resolve various IT related operations in order to effectively communicate, develop and manage IT initiatives and policies and IT-related experience demonstrating Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving as described in the vacancy announcement. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education
