The VA Central Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Program Analyst to work in the Health Informatics service.

Duties
Duties Include:
Provides communication channels to clinical and business teams to support deployment, sustainment, and optimization efforts; includes communication among all stakeholders through each level of the organization, to facilitate and support change
Cultivates a healthy collaboration between enterprise and facility level clinical / biomedical engineering staff and health informatics, ensuring that patient care technology is effectively and efficiently integrated into the clinical process
Uses an array of tools designed to give the most useful information, in the most accessible way, to the right staff, at the right time, to support optimal patient outcomes.
Assist higher level Analyst in enhancement of electronic health record (EHR) usability, interoperability, and ability to interface with other information-based systems while meeting regulatory, accreditation, and legislative reporting requirements.
Studies how people interact with devices, products, and systems. Assist higher level analyst in the evaluation, documentation, prioritization and recognition of requirements for the improvement of the EHR and other systems in collaboration with the end-user.
Maintains professional relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and others in the organization.
Brings controversial information or findings to the supervisor's attention for direction.
Provides communication channels to clinical and business teams to support deployment, sustainment, and optimization efforts; includes communication among all stakeholders through each level of the organization, to facilitate and support change.
Cultivates a healthy working relationship between the Offices of Information & Technology (OIT) and Health Informatics, allowing for routine dialog to enable the sustainment and optimization of our health information technology (IT) solutions and workflows, for the benefit of all staff and Veterans.
Evaluates content quality and assures access to knowledge resources, eliminating redundancy in duplicate data sources, and improving information interoperability across the organization. With assistance from higher level analyst, develop reports and information tools using a variety of methods and tools such as Structured Query language (SQL), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) from the VISN and VA corporate data warehouse.
Enables healthcare capabilities and the evolution of technology adjoined to the electronic health record (EHR) to deliver quality care by developing, implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing informatics tools and access to them.
Assist higher level analyst in supporting a thorough analysis of a workflow to consider opportunities for the potential improvement or optimization of the behavior of people, systems, information, and tools.
Ensures the VHA EHR operates in a way that improves patient care, ensures patient safety, and meets the needs of providers through continuous evaluation, testing, and improvement of the system.
Aids in the evaluation, documentation, prioritization and recognition of requirements for the improvement of the EHR and other systems in collaboration with the end-user. Business needs are identified, support is provided by identifying proper subject matter experts (SME), and there is participation in requirements elicitation activities.
Uses communication, education and leadership to support comprehension of and adaptation to organizational updates.
Performs activities that support the management and delivery of educational experiences using information solutions and technology in all areas of healthcare.
Performs other duties as assigned
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: 8:00-4:30 p.m., Mon-Friday
Telework: Ad-hoc. As needed and per management approval and agency policy.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/04/2024.You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
GS-5:Education: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
OR
General Experience: 3 years, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4
GS-7:Education: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement
OR
Specialized Experience: 1 year equivalent to at least GS-5
GS-9:Education: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
Specialized Experience: 1 year equivalent to at least GS-7
GS-11:Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related
