The Program Support Assistant is physically located in Fort Harrison, Montana and supports the Mental Health Service Line (MHSL), providing administrative support for the designated Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) and works with all members of the MHSL and collaborates with other staff, Veterans, and their representatives.

Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Supports hiring and onboarding of new employees, residents, interns, and students in collaboration with management and other related administrative staff.
Provides customer service in a professional and courteous manner to internal and external customers.
Participates in and provides input in problem solving of operational issues or procedures.
Monitors and maintains office equipment and inventory supplies as needed.
Assists with the administrative preparation of documents and survey responses for facility.
Provides practical and technical support in office administration including; budgeting, supply management, purchasing, personnel administration, and file management.
Performs time keeping functions for service line and others as needed using a time and attendance electronic system.
Serves as records liaison for service line.
Maintain schedules for utilization of offices, conferences rooms, and clinical video telehealth space.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Physical Requirements: The work is generally sedentary but does require some walking, standing, bending, typing on the computer, and prolonged periods of sitting. Ability to carry/transport light items but no excessive physical demands are required. Position does require the emotional stability to handle demanding situations, challenging Veteran behaviors, multiple demands and a high volume of work flow. Position requires valid driver's license and ability to drive as needed.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
