The incumbent provides direct program support for Women's Health Services (WHS), assistance and/or research, conduct activities to support program, and serves as the primary contact person for administrative matters as required to include tasks related to managing the Women Veteran Program Manager's (WVPM)) calendar and travel requirements.
Duties
Major duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
The incumbent provides direct program support for Women's Health Services (WHS), assistance and/or research, conduct activities to support program, and serves as the primary contact person for administrative matters.
The incumbent independently reviews, analyzes and interprets incoming requests, recommends appropriate action or suggests appropriate alternatives, based on knowledge of internal operations, budgetary constraints and work priorities.
Schedules Service-related events, making conference room reservations, sending calendar invites, and developing agendas
The incumbent will attain and maintain computer skills.
Serves as office of WVPM, Records Liaison Officer
Tracks financial, personnel, supply, and other administrative transactions as the documentation flows through the Service in both electronic and paper form.
Reviews documents, reports, and program applications for omissions and inconsistencies.
The incumbent will be responsible for independently collecting, compiling and/or tracking of statistical information in support of program operations.
Assists in the planning, compilation, review, and reporting of data to identify training needs and to evaluate performance measures related to WHS.
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/18/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Knowledge of accepted practices in communications (i.e., writing, editing, and organizing for logical, effective presentation)
Effective oral and written communication skills to provide instruction, administer special projects, and report findings to a varied audience.
Ability to analyze and solve problems in a positive, goal oriented manner and to make clear well-defined recommendations.
Skill in planning, determining priorities, problem-solving and organization
Knowledge of VA regulations, manuals, directives, VISN directives and hospital and clinic policy memoranda and all other VA publications
Understanding of customer service principles and team concepts
Skills in but is not limited to Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, Outlook and VISTA.

Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and lifting of equipment less than forty pounds. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
