About the Position: Serves as an Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH) Health Information Technology (HIT) specialist with primary duties assigned to Pharmacy functions, located at Fort Carson, Colorado.

Duties

Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and modifying computer systems in the field of health care across a wide variety of medical environments. Primary responsibility for all high priority pharmacy desktop support issues. Install and configure new and current pharmacy systems for Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH) and the larger Colorado Springs Military Health System. Provide system maintenance and administration to all Department of Defense (DoD) sponsored electronic health record (EHR) and pharmacy centric systems. Support help desk, desktop tickets, lifecycle replacement and all operating systems upgrades. Responsible for responding to work tickets that include both clinical and administrative systems in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a SECRET National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (ANACI) background check.
• The incumbent may be required to work overtime.
• Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccination.
• This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
• This position is inclement weather essential. This means that you must be willing to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
• This is an Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program. Incumbent is required to obtained certification outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M within six months of being assigned to the position.
