Duties
You will apply in-depth knowledge of publication methods, practices, and techniques to meet the changing formats and delivery methods for the journal and individual reports.
You will manage programs and services for graphics, layout, and distribution of e-book publications.
You will participate in federal and non-federal groups focused on the publishing profession.
You will assess and analyze the automation available at the national and international level to provide the Center with state-of-the-art systems and services that apply to publishing.
You will conduct continuous review and recapitalization of publications programs by updating their supporting systems and technologies as required.
You will support the Research and Analysis Division (RAD) and works closely with RAD leadership and Mission Support Division to provide recommendations to define, advocate, and procure computer/automation hardware.

You will coordinate with colleagues across the Center planning and guiding work to be accomplished by a team of colleagues, establishes and adjusts short-term priorities in consultation with leadership, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
You will find ways to improve productivity or increase the quality of work directed including automation processes and improvements.
You will serve as authority in development of the digital content in addition to JACSS, reports, special reports and publication guidelines for authors, peer reviewers, and Center staff.
You will provide advice and guidance on publication opportunities outside the Center.
You will coordinate with subject matter experts and the editorial team to ascertain the journal’s thematic requirements and priorities.
You will develop the publication program and ensures that publications are developed to be responsive to the audience of Arctic security professionals and decision makers.
You will coordinate the activities of the Center’s publication effort in the following program areas: journal layout and design, calls for submission, dialogue with authors, identification and tracking of peer reviewers, and editorial process.
You will coordinate the activities of the Center’s publication effort in the following program areas: security review, graphics selection, layout and production, electronic dissemination, database management, and associated efforts.
You will collaborate across TSC divisions and the Center’s academic network.
You will provide input for requirements and budget coordination with RAD leadership.
You will prepare annual publications budget estimates in consolation with RAD leadership providing short-and long-range objectives.
You will prepare the Center’s publication priorities for varying audiences including digital content, software, hardware, and print requirements.
You will work with RAD and the Assessment Monitoring and Evaluation team to continuously assess and improve intent and results of TSC publications.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing oversight, coordination and direction as managing editor to develop digital, print publications, reports, special report by staff, faculty, affiliates, and guest authors in support of an organization.
