You will serve as a SECRETARY (OA) in the Executive Department of Helicopter Training Squadron EIGHTEEN at TRAWING FIVE.

Duties

You will provide secretarial, clerical and administrative direct support to the organization’s Command Team. You will receive all visitors and telephone calls to the Commanding Officer (CO)/Executive Officer (XO), ascertain nature of call or business of visitors, and determine appropriate action. You will give out administrative and readily available information to callers upon determination of their right to receive it. You will keep the XO’s and CO’s calendar and schedule appointments and meetings upon own initiative based upon personal knowledge of CO/XO's workload and current issues of importance. You will be responsible for reviewing incoming correspondence, publications, regulations, and directives which may affect the Office. You will be responsible for organizing the administrative flow process for the office, setting up filing systems, and records management processes. You will make necessary arrangements for travel, arranging schedules of visits, reservations, notifying organizations and officials to be visited, and travel vouchers.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing secretarial or clerical duties by utilizing office automation systems to coordinate a department's administrative processes in direct support of organizational leadership. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of at least four full academic years of education above high school
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
