About the Position: Serve as the Director of Communications, Strategic Initiatives Group. Directs the Public Affairs mission with responsibility for planning, designing, and executing a program to inform and educate general and specific audiences on programs, activities, and goals.
This position is located in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Directs the Public Affairs mission with responsibility for planning, designing, and executing a program to inform and educate general and specific audiences on programs, activities, and goals.
Reviews work of action officers and strategic initiatives group staff for editorial quality and consistency and compliance with established style, format, content guidance, accuracy, readability, and appropriateness.
Incumbent also writes and edits regulations, procedures, and booklets, determining the adequacy of content and source materials used, as well as the amount and type of information required by the audience.
Serves as the speechwriter for the Assistant Secretary of the Army Reserve and Manpower Affairs and the Headquarters Department of the Army Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1 and other principals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 5% of the time.
- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13)
