About the Position: This position is located within the Defense Health Agency, Assistant Director, Medical Logistics Division in Fort Detrick, Maryland.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties
Serve as the Chief, Medical Logistics Enterprise Operations (LEO) Division, Medical Logistic Directorate (MEDLOG), Assistant Director, Combat Support Agency, Defense Health Agency (DHA).
Supervise and provide operational oversight of the Division Operations.
Exercise supervisory responsibilities to direct and manage an organization comprised of 53 civilian and military personnel and
contract employees in performance of their strategic and operational levels of work.
Interface directly with senior decision-makers at high level conferences, meetings, and working groups, providing advice and
guidance as necessary to government and non-government agencies.
Provide advice, counsel or instruction to subordinates on both work and administrative matters.
Provide the necessary experience and credibility to represent the DAD, MEDLOG, and organizational interests in order to provide requisite input to the senior leadership.
Formulate and develop strategy changes that will ensure mission-based objectives are met.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) directing the provision of medical logistics functions in support of healthcare delivery 2) conducting business case analysis, 3) providing guidance in developing medical logistics policies/procedures, AND 4) establishing priorities for subordinate employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
