This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, Assistant Commandant for Human Resources/SADI, Personnel Service Center (PSC), Business Operations Division, Capabilities Branch, Washington, DC.
Duties
You will serve as the Coast Guard Military Human Resource Record (CGMHRR) Section Chief, responsible for updating and advising the command on the performance and efficiency of the USCG Military Records Management mission. You will also serve as a CGPSC senior level advisor and liaison for the agency with the National Personnel Records Center, National Archives and Records Administration, Veterans Administration Records Management Center, Executive Director Pay and Personnel Center, USA Program Manager, Integrated Personnel Electronic Records Management System, and other stakeholders as applicable in the management of the CGMHRR and the Official Military Personnel File. Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-14: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level (in the federal sector). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line work.Examples of specialized experience include: Developing strategies for implementing planning for programs; establishing work priorities and revising schedules for completion of work; developing work performance standards and evaluating employees' work performance; implementing and communicating support of EEO policies to subordinates; and collecting, interpreting and communicating program and system requirements to internal and external stakeholdersNational Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
