This position serves as the first line supervisor and manager of the Front-End Department of a Commissary store. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating and controlling front end activities and personnel, and controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operations.

Duties

First line supervisor for store associates. Front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out and cash control. Non-perishable stock control including transporting item and stocking shelves. Meat display and case stocking. Produce inspection, display and rotation. Qualifications

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Examples of qualifying specialized experience: Planning, assigning, and evaluating work of employees Working in various departments within a grocery store Providing instruction and conducting on-the-job training for employees You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods. (2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.
