This Supervisory Security Specialist position starts at a salary of $132,368.00 (GS-14, step 1), with potential to $172,075 (GS-14, step 10).

Duties
Apply for this exciting opportunity to provide the United States Secret Service with expertise, administrative and information security program oversight, and quality control of operations to ensure the effective coordination and management of the agency's administrative and information security program. The selectee will serve as a Supervisory Security Specialist in the Security Management Division. Typical work assignments include:
Directing studies to evaluate branch operations, investigate operating deficiencies and/or revise traditional security policies and practices to accommodate changes needed.
Formulating short and long-range program goals impacting the planning efforts associated with the assigned Branch and related functions.
Providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders in resolving difficult and unique administrative, information and/or physical security problems/issues.
Protecting the integrity of data in the various security systems by ensuring staff is appropriately managing, tracking and entering data in the appropriate database systems.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-14 level (starting salary $132,368.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 level performing the following duties:
Executing plans and strategies for an information and/or physical security program.
Providing advice on the policies and practices involved with the implementation of a security program.
Overseeing the work of subordinate staff (i.e. assigning work, developing performance standards, making authoritative decisions regarding personnel actions, etc.).

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
