As a Management Analyst (Policy Advisor) in the Science Mission Directorate's (SMD's) Policy Branch, you will be responsible for analyzing policies, process, and procedures and advising Branch and Directorate leadership on these activities. You will join the leadership of a team of highly skilled policy professionals in supporting SMD's leadership in policy-related analysis and implementation, including managing the directorate's relationships with key external stakeholders.
Duties
Authors and coordinates with technical or policy experts; analyzes and interprets documents such as executive, legislative, or judicial papers, and budget documents.
Develops and maintains relationships with various stakeholders within NASA, the federal government, private industry, and universities to further the various programs and projects.
Advises management on agency process requirements, and on revisions to existing agency policies and programs to meet requirements.
Provides strategic advice and guidance on broad projects and science programs.
Works well with others in a team environment to achieve goals.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Providing strategic advice and guidance on broad projects and science programs;
Authoring, analyzing, and interpreting documents such as executive, legislative, or judicial papers and coordinating with technical or policy experts on the creation of such documents;
Serving as a key member on a multi-disciplinary team to achieve project or program goals.
