The NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) seeks a qualified individual to serve as a senior Information Technology (IT) Specialist. As part of the SMD Administration Branch Digital Services Team, the individual will collaborate and work with senior executives and management, other mission directorates, and SMD's partners (OCIO, other federal agencies, etc.), to build the Artemis Generation's IT infrastructure to advance the Nation in the discovery and exploration of space and Earth science.
Duties
Serve as strategic advisor to executive and senior management on information technology (IT) operations and requirements, to include formulating and executing tactical approaches for complex IT projects.
Plan, manage, and integrate mission requirements for IT infrastructure, network operations, systems engineering, application development, and project lifecycles.
Manage, conduct, and execute IT governance, cybersecurity, and IT security for mission operations and projects with Federal, Agency, and Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) policy and regulations.
Lead high-level meetings and briefings to provide senior management with information and analysis regarding organizational risk tolerance, risk tracking and risk response.
Develop materials and training supporting increased awareness of IT tools and major IT project initiatives.
Serve as a subject matter expert various IT sub-disciplines, to include application development, systems engineering, networking, programming, IT security, cybersecurity, software and IT hardware, IT infrastructure, and other IT operations.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Evaluating and advising on IT architecture, hardware, software, operations, networking, IT security, cybersecurity, applications, or other IT sub-disciplines;
Leading major IT projects or initiatives for large organizations, or projects or initiatives with complex requirements;
Collaborating with management, and other departments or organizations, to identify and resolve complex IT issues.
AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
