This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Library Buildings and Grounds (LBG), Facilities Operations Division, Maintenance Branch. The Maintenance Mechanic Helper Trainee performs entry level tasks in support of installing, assembling, repairing and maintaining water and drainage systems throughout the LBG. As required, the trainee assists other trade shops in the Division with basic maintenance and repair work in electrical, air conditioning (A/C) and plumbing.

NOTE: The selected employee is entitled to retain his/her current salary rate when appointed to the AMP position.

Requirements

• You must be able to pass a drug test.
• Your resume and question responses must demonstrate job-related elements.
• Must be a current permanent employee with at least 1 yr of service at AOC.

Qualifications

You must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of the job announcement.You must meet the following SCREEN-OUT(S) required for this position. Ability to perform work in mechanical trade occupations without more than normal supervision; specifically maintenance and repair of mechanical, heating, air-conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing and fire sprinkler work.
