This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This is an Engineering Technician position with Little Rock District, Engineering and Construction.
This position may be filled at the GS-07, GS-08 or filled at the full performance GS-09 grade level. Promotion to the full performance grade is at the discretion of management.
Duties
Utilizing CADD (computer-aided design and drafting) software to prepare project drawings.
Developing project specifications utilizing an automated specification writing system.
Communicating with engineers to include architects, and other technicians as part of a multi-disciplined design team.
Gathering design documents to be included in a solicitation package.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.

FOR GS-07:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Assisting with developing project drawings using CADD (computer-aided design and drafting) software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
FOR GS-08:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Developing project drawings using CADD (computer-aided design and drafting) software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
FOR GS-09:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Preparing three-dimensional (3-D) models for design analysis and drawing developments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
