This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This Engineering Technician can be selected at either Grade, GS-0802-09, 10, or 11 with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division (SWD), Little Rock District, Operations Division in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Duties

Serves as an engineering technician in the operations section in connection with the operational aspects of a variety of facilities. Conducts accident investigations at Civil Works Projects and prepares repair costs estimates. Serve as the District's Lock Performance Monitoring System liaison. Conducts studies involving the operational capabilities of a variety of facilities, structures, and appurtenances such as: flood control facilities, locks and dams, water supply systems, etc.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes 1 of the 2 following duties: 1) preparing simple scopes of work for service or construction contracts OR 2) providing written or oral reports with recommendations for modification, correction, or preventive maintenance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). GS-10 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes 1 of the 2 following duties: 1) Performs on site accident investigations to develop repair cost estimates OR 2) conducts studies involving the operational capabilities of a variety of facilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes 1 of the 3 following duties: 1) Developing operation and maintenance work plans for large infrastructure projects OR 2) providing support on flood control appurtenances, water supply systems, & pumping stations to ensure systems function properly OR 3) preform inspections of large infrastructure projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
