About the Position: This position serves as a senior-level directing, providing guidance, reviewing and serving as an expert for explosives safety programs worldwide involving munition operations, processes, and procedures.

Duties

Review and evaluate the explosives safety programs. Plan, direct and execute explosives and chemical safety studies and Technical Assistance On-Site Visits. Perform worldwide Ammunition Logistics and Explosives Safety reviews and audits. Plan and assign work based on priorities, requirements of assignments and capabilities of employees. Evaluate performance of subordinate supervisors and leaders.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • The position requires you to obtain and maintain Safety and Occupational Health Management Career Field Explosives Safety Professional Certificate Levels I and II and complete refresher requirements contingent upon CF funding.
  • This position requires you to possess and maintain a valid stateside driver’s license.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
