This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Senate Office Buildings, Assistant Superintendent, Client Services Division, Service Center Branch. Seeking a reliable and dependable Building Inspector to examine offices, foyers, safety apparatuses and other public spaces to detect and rectify maintenance issues for Senators, Committees and their staffs.
Duties
Tour of duty for this position is: Monday- Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (Hours may be subject to change at management's discretion)

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-08 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as having experience in the following:
• Independently performs quality assurance inspections to ensure all assigned work is completed based on job requirements and needs of the clients.• Uses computerized programs to maintain data and records.(ex: Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) and TMA Systems computer software)• Serves as Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to ensure accurate and adequate oversight of contractor performance according to contract requirements
AND:
Candidates for the GS-09 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as having experience in at least 3 of the following:
• Provides a variety of services to the occupants of commercial buildings and senior management including supporting the daily operations of the buildings including receiving and taking immediate action to resolve complaints.• Uses computerized programs to maintain data and records.• Performs duties as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) or equivalent.• Initiates inspection test procedures and makes recommendations to modify job or contract specifications for evaluating trade/contractor procedures and operations.
