About the Position: This position is located at the Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (JMTC).
Duties
Supervise the duties and functions of Materials Handlers, Motor Vehicle Operators, and Laborer
Establish deadlines and priorities.
Explain work requirements, methods and procedures.
Instruct employees in new work procedures.
Review work in progress, and upon completion, for accuracy.
Coordinate work with other branches/directorates as required to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a security background investigation.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position may require a 1 year supervisory probationary period.
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE 12 months by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Position may be made permanent without further competition. Employees are not eligible for a detail in the OCONUS area unless already residing in the same overseas area (foreign or non-foreign) as the position being filled.
Employees currently located in OCONUS (foreign or non-foreign) are not eligible for a detail to a CONUS position.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to supervise. The work of the position normally includes: Ability to lead or supervise Materials Handlers, Motor Vehicle Operators, and Laborers in a manufacturing environment in areas such as: setting work schedules and establishing priorities; reviewing employee's work in progress and upon completion; planning work sequence to ensure work is completed by deadlines - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: NONE
WORKING CONDITIONS: Some work is generally done inside in areas that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. Work may also be done outside or in areas that are drafty and poorly lighted. Work done outside occurs in all kinds of weather conditions or where protection is usually limited to building extensions, etc. Employee must follow safety regulations and use safety equipment and precautions to avoid danger from fumes, flames, and explosions or to avoid slippage or falling from equipment. Materiel handling work is performed in close quarters of warehouses and on ramps or platforms. Employee is exposed to dust, dirt, or injury from falling stock, handling materials, mechanical equipment, and potential paint, acid, oil, gasoline, and propane spills. When working with packing foam or various types of preservatives, may be exposed to noxious fumes, skin irritants, and flammable chemicals. May be required to wear specialized protective devices in addition to basic protective equipment (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses and shoes, ear plugs).
